In the heart of the vineyards of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a Grand Cru Classé in the Graves classification, Les Sources de Caudalie was opened in 1999. The original concept was inspired by the "French Paradox" – discovered over 20 years ago –, which identified the benefits of drinking wine to reduce cardiovascular diseases.

Between vineyards and forests, just outside Bordeaux, the architect Yves Collet created an ensemble that is in total harmony with its surroundings. The contemporary design, enriched with salvaged parts and materials, makes this hotel a tribute to the art of fine living in the heart of the vineyards.

Alice and Jérôme Tourbier have been working for 10 years to make Les Sources de Caudalie a perfect balance between remarkable character and timeless charm. They cultivate the values they hold dear—authenticity, respect for the exceptional, well-being, pleasure, and generosity.

In the heart of the vineyards… the château life

In this enchanting environment where the vines have carved the landscape, each hotel property is a tribute to one of the natural wonders of southwestern France.

The forty rooms and nine suites are divided between five different houses, each with a regional variation:

La Grand’Vigne

Day in, day out Michelin-starred chef Nicolas Masse introduces guests to the secrets of a cuisine that combines taste, balance, and inventiveness. Inspired by the ornamental hothouses of the 18th century, the Grand'Vigne restaurant invites you to discover an authentic and generous cuisine that changes with the seasons. The refined dining room opens onto a terrace overlooking the lake at the foot of the vineyard slopes, where you can enjoy lunch or dinner in the open air in clement weather.
  

La Table du Lavoir

Beneath its 18th-century wooden beams, salvaged from wine storehouses in the Médoc, behind the glass doors that open onto the sheltered terrace on warm days, La Table du Lavoir endeavors to serve an elaborate and inventive "bistrot" cuisine that evolves to the rhythm of the seasons.

Nicolas Masse exercises his talent at the Grand'Vigne des Sources de Caudalie restaurant in Martillac. This young chef, aged just 38, has set himself a new challenge in the heart of the vineyards that offers a total change of environment where he feels close to the land, his main source of inspiration.

Born in Cherbourg, Nicolas Masse studied and gained his first professional experience in Normandy. His career path, which includes experience in prestigious kitchens, has led him to develop a style all his own. His bold style was rewarded in March 2010 with a Michelin star at the Sources de Caudalie.

Underpinned by the culinary wealth of the region, this devotee of ingredients makes dishes that blend the products of the land and the sea with panache. The history of the produce is conveyed on the plate through a subtle interplay of cooking techniques and use of ingredients that invite diners to experience an alchemy of flavors.
